CLIENT: J & N
PROJECT LOCATION: White Plains, NY
PROJECT GOALS: Curb appeal, easy (on the wallet) maintenance.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Phase three of four (see
first phase here) -Complete exterior renovation- Replacement of all
existing windows with new Andersen windows, a front entry door by Simpson, all new plywood wall sheathing,
30" of veneer Eldorado engineered stones at bottom of walls, Nailite vinyl
shakes, Azek engineered trim boards, and finally Trex composite decking.
Why were those materials carefully selected, and what do they have in
common? All of them are virtually maintenance free, and will guarantee
the homeowners very little -if any- maintenance costs! The lifespan of
these building products is also incomparable. Now that's what we call
a green product.
One important detail: This is NOT your typical vinyl siding
installation: "J" moldings, the channels that often gives away that
you are looking at vinyl siding, are almost invisible, thanks to careful
planning and installation... In fact, we had inspectors and
professionals "fooled"; They thought they were looking at real cedar
shakes!
Beside an eventual garage door replacement that will match the front door, a
forth phase has originally been planned that will altered the roof line and
bring the gable roof forward, providing a possible forth bedroom and a front
porch with much, much more curb appeal... "Stay tuned"...
